NY Times Headline, November 12, 2008: “Democrats seek help for automakers”
So I guess the union bosses aren’t making enough money. Is that it, or are they just worried about their own jobs and their power over Congress?
This has nothing to do with the automakers. This is about the bailing out of the unions, the very people who have driven these companies into the ground. Of course, this is just secondary to Congress with their onerous restrictions on these companies.
The companies are doing fine outside the United States (check out Buicks in China). The reason they are failing here in the US is the UAW and Congress.
What is Congress asking from the unions, and what are they willing to do to rescind the restrictions they’ve placed on these companies? Nothing in both cases, I’ll bet.
So, this is what a Democrat administration is going to bring?
When is Congress going to start thinking about the real “golden goose”, that makes their egos possible? That would be the taxpayers, the people who are paying for all this foolishness. Congress has tapped them out. Is Congress going to go the way of Hoover and FDR, and bring on a real depression? Well, that’s what more bailouts are going to bring.

We are thinking in a similar vein. I have written a couple post on this topic in the past couple days. You can read them here –> http://conservativist.wordpress.com/

I love your article. Straight talk. And I agree with you whole heartly. What would our Government do if the American Taxpayers finally took a stance and said no more….and if you do, we will refuse to file income taxes in April.
April 15th of each year is their Christmas to them. What and hell could they do to 200 million of us who refused to send it in. Put all of us in Jail??? I rather doubt it.
